I have a monthly plan with Koodo and would like to go to prepaid. Can I keep my phone number?

Yes, certainly Dwight, just activate your prepaid account and port in your postpaid number :)
Your postpaid will be cancelled automatically, and all you still need to pay is the remaining bill & tab (if applicable) :)

I forgot to mention that my number isn't portable. I know this because I can't take to another provider. I thought it might work if I didn't change providers?

Is your current number with Koodo Dwight? If it's a Koodo issued number, I see no reason why you could not port it out to prepaid (or anywhere else). You can always try it, you can do your prepaid activation all via Self-Serve. It's a 5-minutes deal and really easy!

Just make sure you get your prepaid SIM at a kiosk or a reseller beforehand though! They're $20, but do come with $20 prepaid credit, so it's basically free!

Well, attention deficit on my part, you mentioned your current plan is a Koodo one. My bad, and please disregard the first sentence of my post above.

Thanks David, I will try to pick up a prepaid SIM card and see what happens:)
