Motorola G5 Plus - Android 8 and/or Security Patches approx. dates?

Hi guys/gals, 

I purchased a Motorola G5 Plus (RETUS - Retail U.S. unlocked version) that I'm using on the Koodo network. 
I'm wondering when the powers that be, might think about updating either my Security patch - I'm still on August 2017, or the update to Android 8.*

Would my RETUS software version phone affect the timing of any updates from Koodo, or is software version irrelevant to receiving updates?

You would have to check with Motorola on that update, as the phone is likely received update directly from them not Koodo. https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/software-upgrade-news/g_id/1949

Thanks for your help - I didn't release it was that straight forward.
My RETUS (Retail U.S. version) software updates come directly from the manufacturer then, (Motorola / Lenovo) - not Koodo (Telus).

That makes sense and certainly should cut back any waiting time since Koodo isn't involved in the update.

Just keep in mind that since Lenovo took over Motorola updates have started taking forever or have become non existent.

I agree with you Paul - although I did receive November 1,2017 Security patch today. 

Yet, that's 5+ months waiting from Aug.1,2017 Security patch to February 5,2018, to received the Nov.2017 patch.   So they're not exactly pumping out the patches in a hurried pace.
