I just got the Moto G 3rd generation about 2 months ago. Sometimes my phone doesn't ring/vibrate when someone calls , then I get a notification that I have a voicemail. Sometimes it says missed call sometimes it doesn't. The people calling me sometimes hear it go straight to voicemail and sometimes hear it ring then the voicemail picks up. It happens randomly as I sometimes hear the calls and sometimes don't. I have tried rebooting my phone several times, removing the sim card, turning off the Moto assist overnight silencer . I thought it was just happening when I was at home connected to wifi but it happened again yesterday when I was out and not on wifi. My apps are all the same as my old moto G that didnt have this issue except for a file command ap that the Koodo sales person added to move my photos to the SD card. I don't know if this is the issue? Anything else I can try?

Is it possible that your accidently turning the ringer down until it turns on the do not disturb feature. If you hold the volume button down until it turns to vibration and then tap it once more it will turn the phone to do not disturb mode.

I'm pretty sure thats not the issue. I had noticed that if you keep pushing down the ringer it goes to DND so I've been cognisant of this. I still haven't figured out if it happens only when on vibrate or when on ringer too as I have to keep it on vibrate most of the time

Are you in an area with spotty service? If you have no service on your phone when someone calls it will go straight to voicemail and never ring.

Download a signal strength analyzer:

 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cls.networkwidget

or something similar. It will give you a good real-time indicator of signal strength for voice, text and data.

Those "ghosted" calls that never get through sometimes happen when you are in marginal areas. I live in the hinterlands and have found a few places in the house where reception is viable and others where I'm wasting my time.

If you stay still in a good signal area, and the meter swings up and down over ± 10 units, that might be an indication of problems with the unit's radio or electronics.

There's also a similar app to check your wifi connection.

No signal is pretty good, full strength, close to the city. I never had signal issues with my old phone in the same area

Hey Julie! Have you been able to resolve your issue? If not, I would suggest giving a call to our tech support by dialing *611 directly from your Koodo phone, option 6. They will be able to do some further troubleshooting, and if the situation calls for it direct you to your closest Koodo location to send your phone out for repair. :)
