Micro SIM invalid?

I got water damage on my S6, and while I wait to see if it works when dried or get a replacement, I am trying to reactivate my S4. However, the "change phone" option in Self Serve won't accept the SIM number on the card. I tried entering the IMEI number from the device status screen, which brought up the error message "New hardware is incompatible with the old hardware. The equipment exchange cannot be performed." Can older phones no longer be used on your network?

All you need to call is take your Sim card and put it in another phone. So long as it's not locked to another carrier that's all that's needed. Change phone sounds like a CDMA holdover.

Unless he has an adapter, that won't be doable since the S4 has a Micro SIM

Hello Derek.

How long has the card not been used for?

Once sim cards have been off the account for 90 days they are permanently deactivated and will need to be replaced.
