Messaging and long distance charges within Canada

I just started with koodo and I have 2 problems.
1) I send SMS via my new phone and I get the answers via my previous phone that has no more service.
2) I tried too call in another province of Canada and an automated message came up saying that long distance charges may apply. On my package I was supposed to have unlimited calls all over Canada. So... how come I may be charged?

1. Since you ported your #, you'll have something called "mixed service", so you'll get messages/calls on both phones for a while. Once the port is completed, it should be fine. Try powering down both phones and rebooting them. Take your old SIM out of the old phone (if it has one) too.

2. Don't worry about that. It's a generic message on the switch. It can't distinguish what your carrier/plan is so it always says "may" result in LD charges.
