Two things:
My phone has recently been mixing up texts with old ones, so I will receive old texts "spliced' in with newly received ones.
My phone has also had periods of receiving no texts whatsoever (what i am experiencing now) , however I can send texts and others will recieve them.
Why is this?? What can I do to fix this?

I'd have to say to give tech support a call and they will run through a list of trouble shooting options and pinpoint your exact issue which sounds like its on Koodo end

I have a friend who's phone did this (Virgin).

Went away on it's own. But it was a very old phone

Try deleting all the texts you have currently stored on the phone, if this is an option.

You may have a corrupt messages file. Clearing everything out may solve your problem.
