I am hoping that at some point Koodo decides to match other cell phone dealers competitive plans like Bell/Rogers/Fido plans. They could bring in more new customers for the tab.

Fido, owned by Rogers is in the "battle". The "discount" brands are battling, not their "mothership": Telus, Bell or Rogers...

Actually, Koodo isn't matched with Koodo currently... at least not the plan I'm looking at.

Koodo's $28 plan offers unlimited text and talk after 5pm + weekends, 100+25 daytime min, voicemail, and call display.

Fido offers the same deal with more daytime minutes for less... for $25 you get unlimited text and canada-wide talk after 5pm + weekends, 150 daytime min, voicemail, and call display (no activation fee).

Fido's $25 plan is not canada-wide.

EDIT: And I don't see anything about Voicemail and Caller ID.

That's correct. So as it stands, Koodo is better

In my mind Koodo's are already better than Telus's promotional plans.

Unlimited Canada wide talk with 2 gigs etc at Koodo for 56 compared to having to pay around 80 for something similar at Telus.

Koodo has been matching all their competitors lately and have actually better deals & they have the best support with the forum which adds a personal touch that no other company has. The best thing about Koodo that puts them above the rest is they listen to their customers ideas & if enough ppl suggest something to koodo will do their best to bring that suggestion to life. - KID ANDROID. I definitely agree with KID ANDROID. Out of all the other companies, I think Koodo is the only company that actually takes the time to respond and take in your ideas and bring them to the table. This results in awesome services and products like the new $25 plan, the double minutes and data promotional plans and the Samsung Galaxy SIII.

I agree with pretty much everyone here - we've done pretty well in the last few weeks to match and sometime exceed what our competitors have been offering. Just look at our newest $25 Talk and Text plan; 5 pm unlimited evenings and weekends, 150 anytime minutes, Canada-Wide, call display, voicemail and unlimited sms and mms. Not too shabby huh? http://koo.do/qqOCIX

I realise this $25 promo is over, and unfortunately, I missed out on it. Is there any chance that Koodo will bring the promo back in the near future, for a limited time (for those of us who missed out on it, but would love to switch to Koodo on such a plan)?

There are still people out there who need their phones primarily for talk/text (not data, and I find that more and more promotions are all about adding more data, or adding more minutes but also increasing the cost. I don't need subsidized data at the cost of my minutes.

Anyway, I agree with you Ashley Levy, that $25 promo plan was amazing, and please bring it back soon, for a bit. That would be amazing!!! Thank you!

If Koodo decides to bring it back, it will be posted on the website/Facebook first so you should always check back. As to a date, Koodo cannot comment on that or even if they plan on bringing it back at all. It's just a waiting game from now on.

Koodo can't promise you that those plans will be back but there is a slight possibility. To be honest though, in my opinion, the only way Koodo might bring them back is if other carriers decide to bring that plan back as well, or if we go into the "Back to School" and "Christmas" season again, but that's not until a long time.

The $28 plan is very similar to the older $25 plan except it has 25 less minutes. I recommend that one as well. The double minutes/double data promotion expires January 10th, so I suggest you get those plans before they expire, and you are forced to select even worse plans.

Wind Mobile gives way more bang for your buck when it comes to plans.

If you never plan on going outside of your calling zone. They are not flexible like that. Koodo is. Double Promo 56 is plenty of bang for your buck, probably a lot more because of no roaming fees in Canada where with Wind, you're paying at least $0.25/minute when outside of your zone.

I will never sign up with Wind Mobile. My house isn't in their "zone". I would have to pay roaming fees just to use my phone inside my house which is ridiculous....

Here in Quebec, Videotron outbid everyone when the AWS spectrum was auctioned. So we Quebecers don't have access to Wind/Mobilicity, but instead are treated to crap plans from Videotron. Their plans are really that bad. And "province wide" minutes suck. Thankfully, Koodo takes care of my needs and makes the whole country my "local zone".

This post was discussed 7 months ago, it was not closed as Answered, that's why I brought it again, because I found out that Koodo is on the top of Other Guys best plans offer.

These comparisons are very old & don't really apply anymore since things have changed somewhat with every one of the carriers

Where are these charts from anyways? They don't seem to accurately depict any real data, they just more or less seem a visual representation of someones opinion. ie: Koodo is ranked first at 1GB of data and no contracts for $50. Mobilicity is ranked second last with unlimited data and no contracts. Where are the metrics used for determining these charts? We should try and keep this forum about factual and relevant information only, not personal opinion that's passed off as legitimate...

The $150 tab is thoroughly inefficient. When you're selling 5, 6, 7 hundred dollar phones, I'd take a contract over a $150 tab provided it still allowed flexibility. Rogers has this cornered - with the exception of their awful Northern Canada coverage.

So, you're too cheap to buy a phone up front. Why not save up? That way you can get whatever phone you want. If you can't afford a cell phone, maybe look into getting a landline. Definitely a lot cheaper than a cell phone.

AlexiKrov, please stay on topic. Kim was giving her opinion about the tab while you're criticizing someone's financial choices. Comment on the tab all you want, but let people manage their money, it's not costing you anything. We know you work /worked customer support, but you're not at work here, just chill out a bit.
