How does call forwarding work? I had calls forwarded to a different cell phone and I just got a massive koodo bill for all the airtime minutes! How is this possible if it's going to a different phone!?

So you had calls forwarded from your cell phone to another phone?

Pay per use for call forwarding is $0.50 a minute. This would have been listed as PPU Call Forwarding under the list of features. I would suggest getting the $3 add on for unlimited. If you do this I'm sure Koodo would add the feature for you and credit back the difference of the add on. Makes sense right?:)

If you don't have the $3/month call forwarding add on, forwarded calls are charged a pay per use rate of $0.50/minute ($0.35/minute if you have a rate plan from before July 14, 2013).

Only if it's coming to the cell phone, I think...

Nope, it's for incoming calls that koodo then forwards to another number, since Koodo gets charged for placing a second call using a 3rd party line. Calls that actually ring at the cellphone are only charged standard airtime.

Now if only our help files stated it like that. Thanks Timo. Virtual *.

I'm not an expert on call forwarding with Koodo, but from what I see, if you use call forwarding on a pay-per-use basis, then it's 50 cents/min. If you take the $3 add-on, then I believe you won't be charged a per minute rate for it? That seems like a huge price difference, though... ($3 for 6 minutes of call forwarding or unlimited for a flat $3?

I think you need to call customer service to discuss your bill on this one. *611 from your Koodo phone or 1-866-995-6636

I always thought it was only for incoming calls that were charged for being forwarded(as in to the Koodo phone) and the Call Forwarding feature removed this charge.

It's all down to judgement. Sometimes a credit is warranted when one isn't. It all depends on the situation and what the agent factors into it.

Chris, ever hear of someone being let off with a warning? This would be the equivalent.

Chris - I don't think anyone said anything about koodo doing anything wrong. I made a mistake and own it. I appreciate Koodo for being understanding of my mistake. Also, I don't think that my lack of understanding Koodo's billing system has the potential to harm anyone...unlike a speeding car, but thanks for the analogy.

Listen, I'm happy you got the credit, don't get me wrong. I guess I was wondering how understanding koodo would be with a myriad of things people often don't understand about their phones. Do you think they were fair with you or more than fair and you would have been just as happy with a smaller credit? If they are giving full credit everyone for everything how on earth are they making any money? Unless you are so delighted by this experience that you will never leave them.

Just got off the phone with support. They removed the large fees from my bill and I have added the $3 add-on for unlimited call forwarding. Thanks for the advice folks.
