You will also want to report it as lost/stolen on self serve. This will stop it from working in north america and stop the stolen phone from being used and racking up a large bill for you.

And this reminds me: it is always a good thing to encrypt your phone, without the PIN nobody can use your device.

Just to clarify: a pin fire bit encrypt the phone. It just adds an extra layer of protection so the thief can't easily access your stuff. Encryption something you must turn on separately
