Your phone needs to operate on 3G/WCDMA/HSPA/HSDPA (all different terms for the same thing), frequency bands 850/1900. If it does, it will work with Koodo. Hard to give you any more information without knowing the specific phone you're looking at.

Hi Encio! Can you give us more info on that model? It seems to be a TV Box. Who is the manufacturer of the device you are mentioning? Or can you provide a link with the specs?

If it's the Samsung Galaxy S5, it will work.

By the way, if you have the IMEI of the phone, click here http://koo.do/1aU1u0o to know if it's compatible with our network. Thank you!

I've written a guide about bringing your own unlocked device to Koodo:

http://mobilemasters.koodomobile.com/...

Please disregard using Koodo's compatibility checker for the time being as it isn't working properly. Instead, verify compatibility by making sure that the phone has the correct HSPA, UMTS, or WCDMA (different names for the same thing) bands.

The K80m won't work but if you get the Vibe X2 it will if you have the 850/1900 3G frequencies.

I don't trust Lenovo devices for software/updates.

I don't recommend looking for more Asia only phones. They're often designed specifically only for China and rarely support the frequencies you need here.

Can you tell me why it won't work? It says "3G:WCDMA 850/1900/2100MHz,TD-SCDMA B34/B39"

Koodo uses:
3G HSPA+ 850/1900
4G LTE 1700/2100
The Vibe X2 should work on 3G

Looking for love in all the wrong places...

Find someone who wants to cuddle up to AT&T and you'll be close.
