Long distance warnings for checking voicemail

I've moved (same area code) and now every time, regardless of who I am calling, I get a warning that my call may be long distance. The call rarely actually is. I even get the warning before I call myself to check my voicemail.

It's not debilitating, but it's quite annoying. How do I fix this?

You can't, really. That's a generic message from the network. It's separate from your carrier. It can't tell who your carrier/plan is, so when it detects that you're calling LD, it will tell you. Your plan with Koodo is more than likely Canada-wide so it doesn't affect you.

The only way to change this is to get a local #. You either moved entirely out of the old area code or if you stayed in the same area, it might be hitting another tower. Possibly try adding a 1 in front of your frequent contact phone #s? Including your voicemail? (ask if you don't know how to change that)

Hi there, adding 1 in front of the phone numbers should work :) Thank you!
