I have a 500 minute plan...but every time I try to make a call it says "long distance charges will apply"... I thought the plan included canada-wide?

What name is the account under Jessica? We could look at your plan to confirm.

Hi Jessica,

Even if you have a canada-wide plan it will tell you that if you don't dial 1 ahead of the long-distance number. Take a look at your plan details, you will see if it is Canada-Wide or not.

Jessica: Are you sure it said "will apply"? My wife & I have the Canada Wide Plan and when I'm in the "Man Cave" and I call her when she is on the back deck (so basically we are 75 ft apart) the Koodo Message says "long distance charges may apply". Happily they never do!;))

That's what it's supposed to say as a blanket statement for all plans. "May apply."

The call IS indeed long distance, but it's up to your plan to see if it's included in your normal minutes or charged as an extra.

Hey, Bob! What about when I call my old dad in Victoria B.C. (cell to landline 3000 miles away) and there is no message. Is that Local then? Just asking. :))

Typically you only get the message when you don't dial 1 ahead of a long distance number.
