Lollipop for Nexus 5?

So I recently upgraded my nexus 4 to the 5 and was informed by the employee at the koodo booth that it was upgradeable to lollipop whenever next I was connected to Wi-Fi. Lo and behold when I got home and connected to my Wi-Fi there was no such update. Its been about a week now and I check everyday and still no update. Any ideas as to when we can expect the new update and should the koodo employees not not be informed of this and stop telling people that its available?

I have the nexus 5 and received my 5.0 update maybe three weeks ago. Try a factory reset. Have you called tech support or the store you bought it from?

No no no factory reset not required.

Google and koodo just released it, it's a staggered release and you should have an OTA (non destructive) update before January 1. Keyword should

Thank you Chad, I wasn't sure. Just a suggestion but thanks for the clarification.

before january 1.... i don't received nothing and i dn't think i received nothing for koodo. i'm pretty sure koodo block the OTA to avoid having a lot of problem with the last update. sorry but i'm not really trust koodo in that case.

What possible advantage do you think Koodo (or any carrier for that matter) would enjoy by blocking your upgrade? Think about that. There must be something wrong with the upgrade for Koodo or Google (who does have an interest in keeping your device updated) to halt the update. Just be patient and when it's ready, you'll get it.

It would be nice to have some input directly from Koodo on this, rather than endless speculation. The sales person from whom I bought my nexus 5 said they thought it would get the 5.0.1 OTA update immediately upon activation. Still on 4.4.4.

Lollipop does not yet seem to be gaining traction. It's not just a Koodo issue. Extreme Tech Article here
