Locked out of my phone

So I forgot my password and am now locked out of my phone. It's asking for my google account, and I know my username but not my password, which seems to be an application specific password. I can access the account from my computer and it shows that it's connected to 1 device (my phone) and shows all the apps I've bought etc. so it must be the right account, but the password doesn't work on my phone. Is there anything I can do besides resetting my whole phone? And if not, is there any way to save the information on my phone (contacts, pictures, notes, text messages, music etc.) It's a Samsung galaxy ace. I'm desperate, please help.

Pictures and music will be on the sd card. They will not be erased by a factory reset. Neither will any contacts saved to the sd card. Everything else will be, but there's really no other way to get back into the phone if it won't accept the gmail password.

Contacts and apps/games should be saved to your Google account and will sync back when logging into Google while setting up your device. Calendar & a few other things should be as well.
