What is the "Android start up page" you are talking about? Could we have an example of what you are seeing?

So it stops at 59% and won't load any further? If so how long did you wait for this to load?

Try starting it in safe mode, if that doesnt work you can try giving it a factory reset.
If that again doesnt work or you would prefer this you have 15 days to return your phone.

Also, there is no need to let the battery die before charging it. Recent battery technology has overcome that need.

In fact, letting it deeply discharge is not only not necessary, but not recommended.

You ideally do not let it go below 20% and above 80 , but not below 20 is fine enough.

If I take the Sim card out I can gain access to my phone but when I put it in it has this problem again

Hmmmm.... Maybe a bad SIM card causes a boot failure. Can you test with another SIM? Doesn't even have to be a Koodo SIM, though that would be better.

Seems you're not alone.

Your best option would be to send the phone back and either get a new G5, a different brand of phone or a full refund. I don't think any of the troubleshooting methods will work according to the reports I've read. Looks more like a hardware issue.
