My account was set up with pre-authorized payments and my payments did not go through on time and now I have a late fee of 5$.
I was not told that the payment did not go through until the next month bill was sent to me.

When you set up preauthorized payments it doesn't kick in right away and the first payment needs to be done manually and then preauthorized will kick in thr following month.

You can try sending Koodo a private message to their FB page or Twitter account and see if they can wave the fee but it's ultimately the customers respibility to make sure payments go through. This is normal with any service they don't keep on you about payment through the month as its the customers responsibility.

Also, you do get advertised that the 1st payment need to be made by yourself, so if you read that notice you would've known. But you can try.

To add to the two above comments:
Number 6 says:
"...It’ll take one full billing cycle (one month) for the changes to take effect."
