If your phone is new, like, new "out of the box", please make sure to let it fully charge first. Overnight is a good idea. Tomorrow it should be ready for action!

I bought my phone a month ago. things seemed fine and I pressed the left side button to turn it on and nothing. With the case it was kind of hard to turn it fully off or on since I bought it new.

Your case seems to be on the stiff side regarding to side buttons. If for some reason the case keeps the power button down, the phone won't charge and what you're experiencing is likely a depleted battery.

I'd take it out of the case and let it charge overnight just to rule out case issues.

I'd try this first!

Have you tried whispering sweet nothings in it's earpeice or holding it's hand during a romantic dinner?

I have been told that this happens with this phone sometimes. My friend took the battery out and reinstalled it and his phone came back to life. Weird I know, but so I've been told. Never witnessed it myself.

The battery on a nexus 5 isn't removable.

I removed it from the case. Charged overnight. Held the power button for 15-20 secs. It finally went on. Thanks for the help.
