WHILE I HEARD HIM TYPING AND BREATHING AWAY. I HUNG UP AND CALLED SOMEONE ELSE AND THEY DID BASICALLY THE SAME THING JUST WASNT AS LONG. I GOT THE INFORMATION I NEEDED BUT WAS NOT PLEASE WITH THE SERVICE.

Did you try to ask your question here? Most of us are customers just like you. You can easily get an answer to lots of things minus the breathing in your ear. :-)

So they answered your question and gave you the information you needed, but weren't pleased with the service because you could hear them breathing into the phone while they were looking stuff up?

As much as it sucks to hear those sounds on the other line of any call, most csr's have stats they have to track daily and if they have an extremely high hold time, then they have forgo the hold when they are doing research on someone's account.

Reps don't really get to hear how they sound on each call so if you hear something they can resolve if you bring it up to them.

Well bring it up to them

In all truth I don't share your viewpoint, Samara. The few times I called a company and I heard a rep breathing in my ear and typing away, I knew, just KNEW they were working hard to get my problem resolved and gave me their fullest attention. It made me very happy and gave me the feeling I am a valued customer.

When a Rep just says "Hold on" and puts me on hold then makes me wait 10 minutes, I often wonder if they just went for coffee or a chat and forgot all about me.

Surprised you made a complaint about this when somebody was actually working hard to get your problem resolved... but then again I know you can't please all people :(

I'm gonna have to agree with the OP here. I've had the same experience - the least you can do is put your mic a little further away so you're not driving me up the wall as you're helping me out.

There's nothing wrong with the "skill" of the CSRs I'm sure.. just a little tweaking to make it a better "on-hold" experience!

Are we really having a discussion about breathing sounds while waiting for the rep to be done?

Seriously?

It's not about the breathing noises, it's about the professionalism!

Ummm, unless they're clearing phlegm while on the phone, how is keeping the line active in case they need you "unprofessional"

Sweetheart, can you please STOP TYPING IN ALL CAPS WE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO YOU TO DESERVE YOU YELLING AT US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:-)

And I'm sorry, did you WANT them to put you on hold? Is the phone music that good? :-P

There is nothing unprofessional about keeping the line open you (most likely) impossible to please human being.
