Frequently dropped calls in downtown St. Catharines, ON, L2S 3P5. What is going on? Is anyone else experiencing this trouble. Especially when I have been on hold for over 30 minutes for a government rep. and they are in the middle of answering my question when the call is suddenly dropped and I am talking to the air. I won't have this same person if I call back and wait another 30 minutes!!! Why are calls being dropped on almost every call I make or receive. It is almost like Koodo says 'That is long enough for you to talk. Goodbye.' Yesterday I was talking to a client and the call dropped during the conversation. How embarrassing!! Koodo looks like an amateur. My son had this problem with Wind in Edmonton and had to leave Wind because the call would drop every 2-3 minutes. I cannot continue to use Koodo in downtown St. Catharines if this is a Koodo known problem. I may have to switch. - Very Upset Customer

Call drop issues like this usually means that it's an issue with the phone itself. You can bring the phone in for repair if your phone is still under warranty.

Don't blame koodo for this issue though, since it pertains to the phone, not the network. And if your phone is having this issue, then use another phone in the mean time.

How do you recognize that it is the phone and not the network?

If your phone drops calls EVERYWHERE, then it's the phone.

No it doesn't drop calls EVERYWHERE. It only drops calls in downtown St. Catharines.

Call Koodo, 611 on your phone (hope it doesn't drop) and ask if they are having issues in your area.

Joy, ever since I switched from Rogers to Koodo, I've been getting amazing reception. I don't think your problem is with Koodo, more like what MarcusF says. It could well be your phone. Sounds like you might have a Samsung, just saying.

Yes, the reception is great! I used to think that the occasional dropped call was the other party that I was talking to. It has just become more frequent.
Does anyone else in my area have this as a network problem?

I am also getting drop calls every where. I have to disagree with Koodo rep that its phone issue. I have brand new iPhone and calls are being dropped whether I am indoors or standing out door. I live in Toronto 401 and Islington Area. I have called many time on 611. All I have been asked to switch off an turn back on the phone, I have even gone and changed the SIM card on my phone. Now Koodo is telling me that its a iphone issue I should get that checked. I am thinking to switch from Koodo. Unfortunately, lot of people are complaining the same.

Hey Zee, have you had a network ticket logged? Most of the time when it comes to dropped calls happening everywhere it is a phone issue(our Techs have diagnosed this issue over and over again to be sure). If you truly believe that it is a network issue, then give our Technical Support a call tomorrow(*611 Option 6) and request a network ticket.

They will get one logged for you and then it'll be looked at by our level 3 Technical Support and should have an answer for you within 72 hours. It's also recommended that you have an email address so you can be emailed updates incase they can't get ahold of you on your phone.
