For most of you including myself who don’t know what Koodo name means, I just found out today, it’s a variation of the Ancient Greek word κῦδος, meaning “praise, renown, glory” and more recently “acclaim for something well done.

Nice! I think in English we still use it in the form of "kudos" :)

I wonder if the name was on purpose?

I mean what does Telus mean?

I always thought "Tell Us" (talk to us) :)
I think only Graham Bell and Ted Rogers named their companies after themselves :D

I have done some digging and found out that the origin of Telus is from the Latin language, Telus is a derivative of the name “Tellus”, rare baby girl names that sound also like Taithleach, Taleace, Talease, Taleece, Taleice, Talleise etc... I could be wrong!

Considering Koodo punctuates their emails communications (for promotions and the like) with "Good Call" I'd say that if the naming was not intentional to begin with they've at least already adopted the meaning.
