Koodo why?!

On Thursday I checked phone booths at my local mall. First I went to the Koodo booth. I told an employee that I need a new phone because my LGg4 is delaying or the apps are not responding. I also told him that I don't want to pay a load of money. He suggested that I should upgrade to the Samsung A8. He proceeded to tell me how good the phone was only for him to say that they're out of stock until Monday or Tuesday. I was frustrated about this and agreed to wait. He also suggested that I check Best Buy. I did and they didn't have any either. By this point I was pissed, but agreed to wait. I called Koodo today and an employee said that they didn't know when they would get their next shipment. Next I called Best Buy next and a worker told me that they should have some by Wednesday. Apparently the A8 is very popular, here's my problem though. I don't understand why phone companies like Koodo don't call for a lot of shipments. They know now that it's very popular, but like why are they not ordering loads of shipments for them. Also my mom, dad, and my brother got their phones right away. Why am I the unlucky one to wait?! My fear is that I'll have to wait for months for the A8

I was about to get an A8 at The Mobile Shop (Loblaws/Zehrs/Real Canadian Superstore) today, and the I went to had quite a few in stock.

@Melissa, which store was it? I think they maybe out of it temporarily. We have them online too if you wish to purchase it that way.

You can always order the phone online.  Up to 10 business days to process plus shipping time.

Stores typically do not want to carry high volumes of inventory due to the risk of inventory going stale

And you only have so much room in a kiosk to hold the 20 or so models that koodo sells.

As popular as it may be, Android has so many offerings, they can't possibly mass stock each phone.  A8 may be popular for some, some prefer LG, my wife opted for the Huawei... And...  if it is that popular, and The kiosk, and Bestbuy were out, perhaps it is BECAUSE of the high demand.

It's like when the new iphone or samsung flagship phones come out.  There are shortages.  It happens

@Melissa try a few different Koodo locations.  I checked a week ago Sunday, near the end of the day, at the Koodo store in the mall close to where my uncle lives, and they had stock. By the time he went to go get one two days later, they were out.  But Koodo in another mall nearby had stock, so he was able to get one.

Call them in advance so that you won't go there for nothing.
