Koodo stole money from my MC and its not my phone or account.

Could someone explain to me how they can take money off my mc and its not my phone or account? I tried once to help out the owner,it wouldn't let the pay through online so he went in and they cancelled the online account.Some answers please before i call the police for fraud and theft.

Do you have an account with Koodo at all? It is possible that someone used your credit card credentials. I'm a little confused by you saying Koodo took a payment out and you tried to help the owner. Do you know the person who's account g T paid by your card?

I have no account. Yes I know the person. I used my card once and it would not go through, so they cancelled the online account to pay that was set up for him. So how am I responsible for it.

My best guess is that the info was kept on the account and eventually used to process payment. Did you speak with the person about what they've been doing to pay for the account or say anything at all related to that? We can try to get an employee to find out more if possible but it seems like you'll have to get reimbursed from the person for services you were charged for and then get the payment info changed in self-serve.

Hey Tam - there's no way for us to take payment from anyone's card without authorization, and with our new security guidelines the requirements are much more strict to make online payments using a credit card (i.e. name and address must match, etc.).

Without having the account info. and all other details, we'd be guessing as to what happened. Your best bet would be to have the person you are referring to check their online self-serve account (perhaps do it with them since you say they're not as tech inclined) and view their billing and payment history to see if you can match the payment you're referring to. If there's a match, discuss reimbursement with them for the payment you made on their behalf. Also, check to make sure their account isn't set-up for pre-authorized payments using your credit card - if it is, you can cancel this online as well to ensure future payments don't get charged to you.

There is no online account. Koodo employee cancelled or voided that said account, sent me emails , telling me to make another account, and try agin to pay. I never made another account and told the guy to go pay in person. so how can they take the money out still? I don't think it's his place to pay me, he didn't just rip me off 200.00 they did. So shouldn't they have sent him a letter at his address? to pay his bill?

It's his services that you are paying for. Either Koodo reimburses you and he pays Koodo or he pays you what he owes. The end state is the same. There might be no self serve accoUnt registered and setup for use but his account with Koodo is still active

Koodo does not send paper bills

So melodramatic. Koodo doesn't steal money, period. So please calm down and explain exactly what happened... What plan are you on for starters and how do you pay your bills normally?

Telus (Koodo's owner) is one of the biggest companies in Canada, If they were thieves, they would have drawn the attention of the authorities years ago. So let's rule that out entirely.

That said, you still don't give many details. For example what is the amount that was taken and from which bank account? What credit card (don't post the number here of course, this is a public forum).

I think Goran's advice may be best, talk to the person you lent your card and ask them to settle this with you.

Really Sophia? If you have no productive knowledge to give, please go back to feeding your cats( (I'm being dramatic). You don't need to know the amount and I said CREDIT CARD, you don't need to know which one.I didn't LEND anyone my card. did you even read my post?

Before you go to police, try to resolve this with your friend who you tried to help out with your credit card. The police is going to ask you for details on this so have those details ready

What I don't understand here is, why wouldn't the OP immediately go through his Credit Card Company regarding this unauthorized charge. I have had a similar type of thing happen a couple of times and the Credit Card company reimbursed me, turned the Investigation over to their fraud unit & issued me a new card.

Tam, I'm not going into an argument with you. It's you who came here full of anger, accusing a legitimate company of fraud and stealing. This could be considered as libel, but you're lucky this is only the Internet where such accusations are (and will be) easily brushed off and forgotten.

As for my cats, they are well fed (thanks for the reminder!) and as for giving productive knowledge here, just look at my post record of the last 4 years.

Anyway, I'm done with this thread. All that needed to be said has been said, read the official reply of Ranjan which said it all, and said it best really.

I do hope you get your money back - your best options are to talk to your friend, or your credit company (in that order) which has been mentioned a few times now.
