Koodo Samsung Ace II - Phone was unlocked for travel and new SIM card not recognized. What do I do?

Hello, I have a Samsung Ace II and I got it unlocked before leaving Canada. I am now in Europe and have purchased a SIM card here but there is no prompt to enter the code given to me by Koodo nor will my phone recognize the new SIM card. I am not sure if my phone was actually unlocked (I was charged though for it) and am not sure how to get my new SIM card to work. Please help. Thank you.

If you never entered the code, then no your phone isn't unlocked. A pop up was supposed to come up when you turned the phone on with the foreign sim card asking you for an unlock code at which point you'd put in the code Koodo gave you.
