I recommend Koodo to all my friends when they are looking to find a better company to deal with but I'm starting to maybe have second thought's...I don't know why Koodo finds it easier to suspend your service till you contact them, Instead of maybe sending an Text or Email or whatever to let you know that you maybe forgot to pay a balance or whatever! I had to spend a day today without my phone when I really needed it...Over a small difference in my bill...I tried to just pay it with my Credit card so I could get phone to reconnect but for some reason, Both my Phone and My Wife's phone, both Samsung 3's have some issue with the screen when your trying to input number's the damn screen keeps blinking off an on and I can't figure out why I have the screen set to 2 min so it shouldn't be flashing on an off as it is??? So needless to say I'm less then impressed with my Koodo today but not ready to dump it yet...Maybe after I finally get to talk to an actual Agent then I'll see...

So if I get this straight, you're annoyed/upset because you faced the consequences of not paying your bill on-time?

"I don't know why Koodo finds it easier to suspend your service till you contact them"

Actually, if you didn't plan on paying your bill on-time it's YOUR responsibility to call Koodo and arrange a payment arrangement.

Koodo shouldn't have to be running after you to get you to pay your bill.

Im annoyed because i paid my bill an thought it was up to date...But it seems there was a still a balance due that i didnt know about...So why they couldnt inform without suspending service is beyond me...Id of paid it if i knew about it..And now that i know about it I still cant pay it because the Friggin page is down? I didnt have intentions of not paying my bill as You so Ignorantly put it ....I use my phones an Pay my Bills...

Koodo doesnt disconnect service for 1 unpaid bill unless your on a spending limit and you've exceeded that limit, either way it is indeed your responsibility to keep track of this like Ahmad said so you truly can't be upset at Koodo. Bills are to be paid every month and if you can't pay it for some reason it's again your responsibility to call Koodo or whoever you owe money to for a bill and make payment arrangements and not doing so can result in disconnection of service as laid out in the service agreement you've signed at the time of opening your account.

It's fine to rant when you have an issue with a party providing service that you are paying for but in this case Koodo has done nothing wrong so you can only be upset with your own actions or lack there of that resulted in disconnection of your service.

Let's cool off a bit..

It's always your responsibility to pay your bills, never mind whatever method Koodo uses or doesn't use to remind you. We have all been in situations where we are mad at ourselves because we did/or/did not do something. Then this situation tends to inflame old aggravations over product performance or whatever and then we are into ranting...

On the other hand, it's never a help for some MM guy to lord it over us with attitude. Nobody here has any access to your account or knows your personal circumstances, so any specific comments are really out of order.

Talk to an agent sounding like honey rather than vinegar, clear up the account issue and most of us will be pleased to help with the phone flashing issue.

The OP does have a point. Why couldn't koodo just send a quick text if bill is not fully paid? Sounds like a simple solution for both parties. You can either pay the bill then or know that without paying it you could be cut off.

Koodo sending a friendly reminder ahead of time by text is an excellent idea. Unless you set up for autopay, it's easy to let a deadline slip by.

No more hassle or misunderstanding that on-line banking or certain cards take a while to be posted to the account, since the notice could be sent well in advance of more drastic action being taken.

Some people obviously cannot read to well, I did pay my bill and im not on a spending limit.. if I had known I still owed on the bill id of payed it... But I thought it was payed up! So a simple message from Koodo before hand would of solved issue, before they felt need to mess up my service...Anyways its payed now and back on...Like it would of been in first place if id had a heads up that I still owed!

Just curious, how did you originally pay the bill that you thought you fully paid? Via credit card/visa debit?

Or did you go to the bank/do online banking?

Let me recommend pre-authorized payments to refrain this from happening again.

So in fairness and because I am not the best customer let's really be honest about what koodo does when you owe them money.

First you get a text: "Did you forget to pay your bill"
Have you remembered to pay your Koodo Mobile bill? You can pay it online at koodomobile.com or by calling us at #227. Thank you!

Koodo calls you, Daily, with a recorded message that it's important that they speak to you regarding your account.

If you log into self serve, you get a big white square reminding you that your bill is late and you need to pay it. Sometimes you can even make a payment arrangement via self serve.

If you choose to ignore all this, as a last resort, Koodo will redirect all of your outgoing calls to a call Center so you can speak to a CSR regarding your account.

Lastly, koodo shuts you down. At that point you need to pay your bill and a 35$ reconnection fee.

How do I know? Let's just say I've never had to go so far as pat the reconnection fee.
