Koodo chip in telus iphone

I put Koodo Sim in my friends old telus iphone 4. I got a new # and yet my friends old # pops up when i txt people? Also when i try txting my friend who gave me this phone i receive the txt instead? i looked in settings and only my new # pops up what can i do to fix this..?

Did you buy a new sim to put in their phone?
Are you taking over their account?

Maybe perform a factory reset

Sounds like you're getting his iMessages. A factory reset should fix that issue like stated by Dennis above.

if it's just imessages just turn it off

Actually, if you want to use iMessage you either perform a factory reset of the phone OR you go into setting and de register his iMessage number from there.

Setings > Messages > Send & Receive

PS : I suggest factory resetting as it is the best way to start fresh from an old phone!
