I have had my Koodo phone since the end of last June and up until now the carrier has always been Koodo. Now suddenly it's Rogers. Is this an OK thing or not?

It's possible that your phone is accessing extended coverage that Rogers is offering if you're in an area that has less than stellar coverage with Koodo. There's no additional charge for extended coverage, according to the author of the article from Mobile Syrup. Only Rogers and Fido customers will see the Rogers 'EXT' symbol appear on their phones.

@ Ash What part of the country were you? This is a new arrangement amongs the cell companies and I'm curious where you picked up the Rogesrs signal instead of koodo's.

I've seen this happen to me as well and I'm in Toronto. However, there's also been times when I've seen just EXT instead.

My understanding of all this is that its not supposed to show rogers, all its supposed to show besides Koodo is EXT.
