Koodo cancelled my service while I was out of the country for 6 months. How can I get service back?

I never used the phone out of the country, and never realized that I still owed them anything until I received an email from Collections Dept. of Telus.  I immediately paid the amount.  Now I am finally back home, and my phone doesn't work because they cancelled my service.  How may I get it reinstated? or pre-pay, whatever it takes?

hi Lois,
if your account has been cancelled and sent to collection service (you paid full), your previous contract has been terminated. You might have to register again with Koodo as a new customer I guess.

I don't know if you can take the previous number back, you might have to check in with them directly either at a Koodo kiosk, or call Koodo (1 (866) 995-6636) or send message to their facebook.

You'll have to start again as a new customer since the account would be closed after being sent to collections. You'll have to contact Koodo either by sending them a private message via Facebook Messenger or DM via Twitter or call the toll free number 1-866-995-6636. Not sure about your number. That one depends on how long it's been since your account was cancelled. I've heard up to 90 days before it goes out for selection for new accounts. You'll just have to call and ask.

Thanks, it all happened less than 2 weeks ago.  They emailed me that they were going to send it for collection if I didn't pay right away, so I send payment immediately.
I arrived back in Canada yesterday.  I will try to do the private message on Facebook, as I don't have any phone to call from.

When you are out of the country, you still need to pay your bill. At this point, if it went to collections, koodo would have closed your account for non payment and you will need to start a new account.

I am well aware that I need to pay it. I put on the plan that I would be gone, but then 2 weeks ago I received the email asking for payment. I sent it immediately, but didn't get back home until yesterday.  Thank you for replying.

You were gone for 6 months. Did you not pay anything during those 6 months?

If your account hasnt been cancelled the following will apply to you. You will have to pay the re connection fee.

I don't think he could reactivate it by paying the reconnection fee, the account was already terminated and resolved through a collection agency.

Thats why I said if it hasnt been cancelled. His post below Goran might mean it hasnt went that far yet.

From the OP

"They emailed me that they were going to send it for collection if I didn't pay right away, so I send payment immediately."

I know if it was already sent to collections his account is cancelled. They sent a warning to pay. He paid.
