Gone from an old cell to the Moto G. Problem is, i'm a senior with a husband in a care facility, so have to get up to speed. How can I locate the Speaker mode on the phone? And when asked for a password to set up greeting, how can I get to the number screen. No kidding, this is a huge learning curve for me. Seen people whizzing screens past my eyes, but that's it. help, please.

Speaker mode is enable usually while making the call. It should look like this :

Also, for the passcode, did you set it up? If yes, then when unlocking it should appear. If not, you need to set it up (not sure exactly where)

Also, here's a good read : http://www.androidpit.com/how-to-set-...

When in a call, a row of five icons should appear; from left to right they are; Dialpad, Speaker mode, Microphone mute, Pause/Hold and Add Contact. After tapping the Speaker mode icon, you'll have to hit the back key to reveal the previous icons, press the Dialpad icon to return to the numbers screen.

Here's an actual screenshot of the Moto G's calling interface. I've labelled the icons and provided a brief explanation. Click on the image to enlarge if necessary.

For security or privacy reasons many people will assign a lock to prevent unauthorized phone access. If you're seeing the lock icon, it means the Slide option was selected by default. Simply swipe to the left or right to unlock your phone.

By going into Settings and scrolling down to Security - under the heading Screen Security > Screen Lock, you can assign a specific lock screen action to be taken when you 'wake' or power up your Moto G. If set to None, then you won't see any lock screen appear and your phone will open up on the Home screen.

Lock screen actions:

None - no lock screen
Slide - this is what is currently set up on your device
Face Unlock - uses phones' camera and your face to unlock your phone.
Pattern - draw a pattern between 9 dots to unlock your phone
PIN - create a PIN number
Password - create an alphanumeric password

The decision is ultimately yours, however, should your phone ever get lost or stolen you'll have the added peace of mind knowing that your device is locked and that the phone can't be used without inputting a password, PIN number or pattern.

If you decide to set a password, PIN number or pattern, write it down and keep it somewhere safe for future reference. If you forget your password, there is no way for Koodo to reset passwords, PIN numbers or patterns and you'll have to do a factory reset in order to be able to use your phone again.
