Just got a new phone and am having trouble switching over from my existing phone which is on a koodo account already

Hello Richard!

Are you attempting to transfer data, sim, contacts? Also are both the devices the same make for example Android to Android or Apple to Apple?

Phone came with new SIM. Old phone is android and new phone Apple

Sometimes (depending on how you set the phone up at start) the contacts and such are saved onto the SIM. Depending on if the new sim is activated already or not you may be able to just slip the old SIM into the new phone and continue your service like normal. For data which may include pictures/videos and other forms of media such as applications at startup click the button that says setup from old device. Another option is your contacts were saved to your gmail simply log into your gmail on your new device and you should be able to see all those contacts on your new phone upon logging in.

I've gone through set up process but have no service on the phone. Does this have to be done by koodo?

Did you try inputting the new sim and old? Sometimes the SIM is changed upon activation, if you continue facing issues it is best to contact customer support to ask them which is the active SIM

@Richard: if you upgrade your phone, the new SIM is likely unactivated.

Have you tried to put the old SIM into the new phone? If the old SIM was of an different size and cannot fit, then you need to switch SIM. To switch SIM you need to contact Koodo directly. If you can, you could send message to their facebook (link at the bottom of the page) to avoid the wait on phone.
