I bought a Nexus 4 from Kijiji. This phone is originally locked with Koodo. But the seller told me it had been unlocked. And I used this phone with fido for about two weeks and then it didn't work any more. Now, it can not work with any carriers. I wanna to know what is wrong with the phone? It is locked with Koodo again?

The Nexus lines of phones are factory unlocked. If you're using it with Fido you'd have to contact them to determine the issue to the phone or with their network.

Nexus phones are not carrier locked.

Check to see if the phone was reported stolen:

Unfortunately the phone actually belongs to someone else. So your only option is to return it if the original owner or use it as a paperweight

You are out of luck. The guy either sold you a stolen phone or was malicious and reported his sold phone stolen.

If you meet the guy face to face you may want to call the police and report it. You're going to loose your money and the phone as it's stolen and now it's worthless to anyone but person who reported it stolen

You won't be able to know who reported it.

Since it is useless to me, I decide to return it back. You mean I even can't know who reported this and can't return it back?

You're best bet would be to contact the federal authorities and let them know you were sold a lost/stolen phone. I'd give the police officers the contact information who sold you the phone.

I have contacted the seller. I think he played tricks just as you said. I have got his phone for about 2 months. Now I tell him I need my money back but he says he can't return the money until Mar. 15. I wonder if this is a trick again?

You are at the seller's mercy. I would get the police involved. Whatever you do, stay safe.

Sounds like the seller either swiped it off somebody and the original owner eventually reported it lost/stolen or the seller activated it on Koodo with a retailer who provided gift cards, cancelled the line after 30 days, sold it to you to recoup the cost, and then reported it stolen afterward.

That's just grimey. This is the 2nd time today I've seen this issue. I'm sorry that this happened to you.
