Is my phone covered by warranty?

My Moto g has a slight chip on the screen from dropping it only a few inches from the ground. Anyway, about a month and a half later I have had a software issue, where my phone froze up and now is switching between the motorola screen and the 'Android in distress' screen. Simply put, it won't actually turn on. Is it still covered by the warranty even though there's slight cosmetic damage? It clearly wasn't the drop that made it do this, but I'm worried they won't do anything because of it.

The only thing you can do is arrange for service and hope for the best. And keep the drop to yourself.

Generally, warranty is voided if there's any water or physical damage to the phone. So now that you're aware of this the ball is in your court if you wish to get it repaired. so the expectation is set, don't be surprised if there will be a cost for your repair. Otherwise, depending on the cost of the repair you might be better off to get another cell phone.
