Is there any way to get the $45 1GB Data PP without paying out the balance on the Tab?

Is there no way to calculate and restructure an old tab to a new one in order to avoid paying the full amount of the old tab balance in one go when switching to a new plan? Would it be at all possible to reset the 24 month tab period with the current balance left on the phone in order to upgrade to the new tab and plan without making a lump sum payment?

Unfortunately, no. The new Tab system is simply incompatible with the old one, so any remaining balance cannot be carried over to the new plans.

Would they ever make an exception or try to meet us half way by applying a credit or something like that? The new $45, $55, and $65 high data, unlimited minutes plans are great, and switching to them would increase the ARPU of my gf's current plan so Koodo would benefit by either being able to reconfigure a tab switch or by providing some kind of credit system that would help balance the scales of the switch a bit. A $250 lump sum payment is a big chunk of change to pay out all at once.

Call and ask if they would be willing to take a few dollars off of your Tab balance. Depends on a lot of factors, including how the rep you are talking to is feeling that day.
When did you get your Tab? Depending on that, your Tab balance might go down a lot, or even become $0 on June 3.

Pay off your tab balance with a credit card and slowly pay the credit card back.
