I try to repost my problem again. It disappeared when I posted ...

I signed up with Koodo for almost 1 year. Everything went well until 2 weeks ago I have problem with TD bank app, other web sites respond time is quite good. I thought that it was TD app problem then I connected to home WiFi then TD bank app has no problem at all.

I don't really know what is the problem. Same phone & same TD bank app. It does not work with Koodo Data but work with my home Wifi ???

So, I went to Koodo booth at Cloverdale shopping mall in Toronto for some assisstant. The SR was so rude and he kept saying can not fix either TD bank app or data to make it work !!!

I pay monthly fee for my data plan and it was working well until 2 weeks ago. Whose is going to help me to fix this problem ?

Indirectly, He tell me take my business to another company ???

Store staff are basically sales people. They will help to the extent of their training. They are not tech experts.

You can send a private message to Koodo on their Facebook page detailing your problem if you don't have the patience to wait for a phone connection.

In the meantime, you can try the following:

Sometimes there’s a problem reaching a web site. The tech folks will tell you to clear your cookies, cache, etc. You can do this in your browser settings, but still get an error message telling you the web site you want is not responding the way it should. You can also clear the app data in application manager to start afresh.

Problem may be the DNS cache. DNS is like a central phone exchange that translates your site requests to an IP number so that your call can be routed to the actual physical location of the party you are trying to reach. The most recent ones are stored in a cache to shortcut the process. If the cache is not up-to-date or corrupt, your call to a particular page may not go through as planned though other pages work fine.  I have seen this site be unavailable from some US providers or VPN services. Your solution may be to start fresh with another “phone exchange” entirely.

On Windows, Mac or router, changing the DNS values is relatively easy to do if you know where the internet parameters are. But not so on an Android phone.

Download Engelsiz from the playstore then re-boot your phone. Temporarily change the DNS values on your device to alternate values. The safest ones to use are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. (the Google defaults). Then launch your browser or service app and re-try the offending page.

Your default DNS values will return when you reboot the phone.

Thanks for your detail suggestion. I am not very good at those tech terms but will give it a try some how. Facebook Koodo page will be my 1st choice.

Hello Bob,
After showing my co-worker your suggestion. He knew the problem with my phone. I downloaded 1 app and it wants to know my location. when I didn't allow it, somehow it changed my TD app that required "turn on" location service. I did not have time to check other apps yet, but at least if it happened, I know what to fix now.

I tried everything that you suggested except changing dns. Thanks again.

If outside of the TD app all other sites/apps work it doesn't sound like a data issue. Have you tried to de-istall the app and re-install fresh?

I called my phone help line. Help guy suggested the same thing as you did but no luck. He assisted me to reset something while on the phone but I don't remember exactly what it called but no luck. At the end , he explained in tech term some things like "could be" koodo network at that time too busy or that TD site or page too busy that caused problem.
Problem happened every time not a certain time of the day with TD app.
Well, I gave up. Tech is good in some way but give headache some time.

Thanks.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with the network....I have the TD app too and works fine. Anyway, hopefully it's a temporary glitch.
