I do not have Canada wide talk and text but will be travelling to Saskatchewan(I'm in Toronto) and need to be able to call/text. Is there an add on for this or do I have to switch my entire plan?

My plans is the $45

You can get the add-on for $20 Unlimited Anytime minutes (this is canada Wide)

That's the best way to travel with belt and suspenders on. And if I'm not mistaken, the add-ons and plans are charged pro rata for the month. If you travel for only a few weeks, you can remove it and revert back to your original plan, even if that's no longer available once you're back home. You would pay only for the few weeks of use rather than the whole month.

Otherwise, following Ahmad's tip below, your bill may be a really messy surprise to reconcile, given the way "long distance" works on local call only plans.

If you don't add any add-on, just know that calls you make to numbers within that local calling area are not comsidered long distance. So if you're in Saskatoon for example, you can call another Saskatoon number and its considered local and you won't be charged long distance. If however anyone calls you, it will be long distance. Good tip to know :)

Hi Jacqueline!

If you don't add the $20 option, you'll be charged  50¢ for long distances.

In other words, the local calls you make while in Calgary will be using your 200 minutes but the incoming calls will be charged long distance.

Basically your local calling area follows you all over Canada for outgoing calls but not for for incoming calls.

So the amount of Long Distance you make will allow you to decide if you take the $20 Add-on or if you end up using Pay-per-use.

Hope that helps :)
