Is the balance I am supposed to pay correct?

I payed a bill a few days past the due date due to my payment cheques being held. After paying the bill I now have a new one of $148 which is double what my monthly bill is supposed to be. Is this correct?

They might issued your bill before they received your payment.( You mentioned you paid after the due date)
You need to contact them as Ivan said and they can confirm if they received your payment already or not.
