We recently upgraded our phone so our tab dept is quite high at the moment at $350. I just read my recent Koodo bill and on the last page was a paragraph that says:

On June 3, 2015, we’re dropping your outstanding Tab balance to $0

Does this really mean our $350 dept will be paid off? Seems too good to be true. Plus I don't know why they would hide this in fine print at the end of the bill instead of making it a bigger deal.

I did also notice that there is a new Tab Charge of $5 on the bill. I thought that might just be because our current tab was so high. But after reading the part about our tab going to $0, I'm wondering if this Tab Charge will just be a recurring $5 fee forever?

No, this is for people on the original tab. Not for people on Tab Small, Medium, Large or on one of the new Tabs. So your tab will stay the way it is.

The Tab charge is only on your bill for $24 months to help pay off your tab.

We got our phone through Best Buy, and they never explained about switching us to Tab Medium. I guess I should have asked to see the fine print, but oh well.

We only upgraded my wifes phone, which accounts for $250 of our tab. My phone's tab is about $100. I am on the original tab (though it says Tab S when I check online). So that message at the bottom of my bill must be stating that my portion of the tab will be removed. That still saves me a $100, so that's great. But I'm still not sure that's correct. I might have to go to a koodo kiosk to make sure I'm clear on what happens on June 3

If you're getting a 10% contribution to your tab, you're on the original tab. If you're getting a 15% contribution to your tab, you're on Tab 2.0 (Tab S, M, L). I would call-in as kiosk reps aren't as trained in stuff like this.
