Is it worth it to trade in my s7 to get the s7 Edge? ? There isn't just a difference I can pay?

Or will I have to pay off the entire s7 phone tab in order to get the s7 Edge. Or would it be more worth it to wait for the s8 line up.

There is no way of paying a little bit and upgrading. You would have to buy the s7 edge in full.
If you want to buy with Koodo you will have to pay off your current tab before buying a new phone.
The s7 edge is 0.4in bigger, has the curved screen and has a 600mah bugger battery. Personally I would wait until the s8 comes out.

Oh I can't just trade in the s7 phone I have to get the s7 Edge, thats how I got my s7, I traded in my s5 Neo and got 250 dollars towards a new phone. But yes, I will probably wait for the s8 even though Google Pixel brand phones look nice. If they make the Pixel 2 Water resistant i'd consider getting that instead when it comes out.

You could trade in your phone for cash value at certain stores but you will get a small amount compared to what it is worth.

@Alexis: The S7 and S7Edge are known to have set trade-in promos. Trading your S5 Neo for $250 towards the S7 wasn't the best idea (depending on retailer promos) since the S5 Neo retails for more than that with carriers. To be fair, you probably would have only got about $250 cash had you sold the S5 Neo on Kijiji or Letgo, so maybe it wasn't the worst option. Many retailers would have given you that fixed trade-in amount had you traded in a $50 phone. I believe Rogers started the fixed trade-in promo for signing up for S7/S7E's, then other carriers followed suit.

Now for your Galaxy S7, definitely not worth trading in. If you want to upgrade, you'll get better value selling it on Kijiji or Letgo for much more than $250. Then when you go to do your upgrade, you'll be charged your remaining tab on your next bill.

If you sell your Galaxy S7 for $600 on Kijiji, and Koodo charges you a tab buy-out for less than that, then you come out ahead. Then you take a new phone and put it on a new tab.

If I were to choose between a Samsung or Pixel, I'd go Pixel given that they don't explode :D I'd definitely wait for the 2017 model phones to roll out, regardless of your manufacturer of choice.

To be honest, unless you want a bigger screen, I'd say that's a no go. The EDGE is only for the look and it's pretty useless.

Oh I thought the over all battery life and performance was better on the Edge. I'll wait for the new s8 line up and new Pixel phone before I make any decisions. Looks to be my best bet. I don't mind the s7 but I thought it was going to be way different from the s5 neo but it really isn't that different besides the price tag and maaaybe the battery life.

Big samsung fan here, but I was a note user.
I wanted that Note7 so bad until all the fire stuff happened.

Made the change to the oneplus 3t and it aboslutely detroys the Samsung phones now in price AND performance.

Compare tech specs over at oneplus.net.

I think I paid 599 outright for mine last month, vs over 1000 for my notes.

It's BLAZING fast. The 6gb of ram is so awesome (compared to the S7 and Note7 that only had 4gb I believe). And since you are concerned about battery, with moderate use I normally get about 2 days out of it. It also charges to 80 percent in about 25 minutes using the specific Dash Charge technology which is superior to Quick Charge. Not specifically in speed, but in head dissipation that would otherwise slow your phone down while using it at the same time as charging.

Just a thought. If you're really in the market for an upgrade, then make it a worth while upgrade :)

Check out the awards the phone won this year on tech sites all over the web:

Every techie knows about this phone :)

Additionally they offer the same drop/water damage extended warranties Koodo/Telus does, but for like 3 bucks a month instead of 10 or something? I can't remember it's been a while :)

I'd definitely wait for the S8 lineup. The screens will also be bigger while maintaining roughly the same size as the S7 phones. I don't see any value in switching to a S7 Edge atm.
