Is it possible to put your plan 'to sleep' for 6 non-consecutive months?

I will be going to Europe for three months this summer, then will return to Canada for one month, and then will go back on exchange to Russia for four months. Can I still use the seasonal hold option?

Yes you can put your account on seasonal hold for those times however keep in mind you'll need to choose a plan from the ones available at the time you want to remove the seasonal hold each time so you will lose the plan you have now. Something to keep in mind if you have a great plan right now you don't want to lose.

In your paticular case, if you don't have a large tab balance looming, I would suggest porting out your Koodo number to a free or inexpensive VoIP service like CallCentric when you leave Canada. You will get a final bill from Koodo and your account will be closed.

You can most likely use a VoIP app on your phone using your current Koodo number over wifi at VoIP rates and also use your phone with a local SIM simultaneously. Two phones in one.

When you return to Canada +/- 1 month, get a Koodo prepaid SIM and have your VoIP calls forwarded to that temporary number.

Once you have returned permanently, you can then decide on an ongoing solution. Either port back to Koodo or continue forwarding.
