Is it possible to activate by going to store and purchase a SIM card, while waiting for the online order to be approved?

I submitted an online order on March 8 but since there is a huge delay before my order will be approved, I won't be able to port my number over before I leave on vacation.  I got an account number from a rep today.  Wonder if it's possible to purchase a SIM card from Koodo store and do the self-serve to activate the SIM after?

hi Katiet,
As you have contacted Koodo, what did the rep. say? you could leave your order number here then someone might check it for you. "Purchase a SIM" doesn't mean "activation with the promo plan".

The rep said I could go to a koodo store and activate there. However I think it may invalidate my online friend referral if I activate at the store. My order number is HFO19460674. Thank you!

What is a possible solution?  Should we:

- go to a koodo store and switch, then call customer service to rectify the referral after?
- change to a cheap PM plan to keep the number active.  Wait for SIM to arrive and then port the number over?

Hi Katiet, If you're in a rush to port over then it's better to cancel your online order and purchase from a store. You can't port without a Koodo SIM card, and you can't port at a store and then get a SIM card later since you'll have activated on another one. You're correct, if you purchase in store you're not eligible for the $100 RAF credit (but you'll still get $25 if you follow the correct steps). Let me know if you'd prefer to wait for your online SIM, or cancel it and go in-store.
