I found on the internet that if i Root my nexus 4 I can install a code that will enable it to run LTE internet has anyone ever tried this and did it improve signal strength? It seems that it is a common problem with the nexus 4 to have problems with signal strength and slow internet loading

I think it was patched a while ago but it may still be possible with root.

However, it won't solve reception issues. LTE will actually have a lower signal strength than regular 3G since it's not as strongly developed yet.

Not that I'm against rooting in any way, but the process will void the manufacturers' warranty as will unlocking the Nexus 4's bootloader. If you're unable to restore the stock ROM, factory recovery or relock the bootloader and the device needs warranty service, you could find yourself with an irrepairable paperweight.

According to the author of the article below, in order to obtain the LTE speeds, you'll have to install a custom recovery. Judging from the reviews, they don't look very promising and the author appears to have abandoned the topic altogether.

Best advice, always make a backup of your phones' original firmware/software first before you try any of the procedures mentioned.
