iPhone 5 can't connect to service?

I have an iPhone 5, and just recently it stopped connecting to my service provider, it won't even connect to any other service providers. I have tried restarting the phone and switching airplane mode on and off but it still says no service. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you fix it?

Have you ensured that 3G is enabled under cellular settings? Then try turning off the phone, taking out the SIM card for about a minute and then putting it back in.

Are you in a good coverage area? Perhaps try someone else's SIM card in your phone to see if it works

Coverage in the area is good, I usually have 4 bars here. I will try someone else's SIM, thanks for the tip :)

Other things to test. Check your carrier settings on the main settings page to see if it's set to Automatic.

Another option is to reset your network settings under settings - general - reset. You wont loose any data but will need to reconnect to any wifi networks you have saved.
