Hello to everybody,
I was an exchange student in Canada for half a year an had a koodo prepaid SIM card. It worked perfectly fine on my Iphone4 (bought in Germany). Unfortunately my phone got broken and I got a new Iphone4 (bought in an APPLE STORE in Vancouver). My koodo SIM-card worked in that phone too, but I'm back in Germany now and my phones tells me "No Service" or "Invalid SIM" all the time when I put my old german SIM-card in. The german SIM-card is the same like before my koodo-card.
Some people say theres a SIM- or net-lock on it but I'm not sure.
I hope anybody knows what to do.
Thanks in advance.

It's most likely that your German carrier runs on a different type of frequency than Canadian carriers and as such, the iPhone doesn't have the proper frequency. Each iPhone in every market works on different types of networks. You'll have to look up your model number (Hint: It's not 4S. Go into settings->general->about) and google to see what networks/frequencies it runs on and see if your German carrier runs on any of those.

But if you can't find a solution, you need to start talking to your German carrier/Apple as this has nothing to do with Koodo and not something they can fix.

All iPhone 4 models support both the "standard North American" 850/1900 3G bands and the European 3G 900/2100 bands.

I've used an unlocked Canadian iPhone 4 in Europe years ago.

How old is your old german SIM-card?
Because SIM card will expire after 90 days of inactive in Canada( I don't know about it in different country)

Was the phone you bought from the Apple store a Koodo iphone or an unlocked one?

As I read this you said prepaid so it should be an unlocked one.

When you entered your German-sim, did you reboot the phone?
