You cant shut it down but your service will be cancelled so they cant use it, i reccomend with your next phone installing an app like avast antitheft, which in this case would track your phone, lock it, and even reset it

If you tell them to report the phone stolen before telling them to try tracking the phone, that is not going to work.

And do this as soon as possible since Koodo is not responsible for charges done before it is reported.

Also inquire about your tab and see if Koodo can help you get a new phone!

Please don't give this advice to others.
If he has Find My iPhone enabled, and there's a screen lock, it's better NOT to report it stolen for a few hours/days.
Get a new phone... What's the rush?

Have you tried using Find My iPhone first?

Once you report the phone stolen you may not be able to use Find My Iphone without a reboot

1) Contact Koodo ASAP, was your phone setup with a screen lock?
2) Lookout security is another good one for mobile devices, check it out.
3) Does your camera automatically upload pictures to a PC accessible place? In case the camera is used while out of your possession, the pictures may be useful in tracking the thief or subsequent users.

Step 1: Contact Koodo and report your phone as stolen
Step 2: If you have Find My iPhone enabled, try and track it online
Step 3: Did you enable Activation Lock? This wil prevent anyone from wiping the phone and using it themselves

Enabling Activation Lock, Find My iPhone, and a screen lock are precautionary measures to take.

That needs to be in reverse order:

Step 1: Did you enable Activation Lock? This wil prevent anyone from wiping the phone and using it themselves
-This needs to be done before the phone is lost/stolen

Step 2: If you have Find My iPhone enabled, try and track it online
-This needs to be done before reporting your phone stolen because once reported stolen it will no longer have access to data to track your phone.

Step 3: Contact Koodo and report your phone as stolen
-This is a the last step if all else fails. You have accepted the phone is gone and no longer able to be found. By reporting it stolen you will black list the phone from being used on any north american carrier. It will also prevent any fraudulent activity (including any phone tracking ability) on your sim by suspending your account
