iphone ios update?

i have an iphone 4s does anyone know if the new ios 8.1.1 update is safe to put on my iphone 4s? im still using ios 7right now.

It's safe it's just that it might be slower due to outdated hardware of the older iPhone model.

I probably wouldn't do it on a iPhone 4S, although it is compatible as people have said.

thanks Robert i will check it out. Im not sure i will update it though as i hear alot of horror stories on how it freezes it up and really sucks back the battery. My battery i find already after a year of having phone is slowly getting worse . i find i am charging it more often as when i first got it.

The 4S is as much as 4 years old if bought when newly released. Batteries do lose their ability to hold a charge over time. Possibly it is time to replace either the phone or the battery.
