Go to your closest Apple Store and have them look at it. Not sure if warranty claims can be done in the US stores if your phone was bought in Canada but until you get into Canada again, you won't have too many options.

Apple offers international warranty service wherever they officially sell the iPhone. You can be travelling to China and if your phone breaks under warranty, they'll replace it on the spot, though you'll get the local version obviously.

If the phone is no longer under warranty, get yourself a used one in the US, have it unlocked and use your current SIM. Check your local Craigslist.. there are usually any number of re-sellers who could get you though this process pronto.

Or get yourself a Tracfone with a few hundred minutes in any dollar store. You can call Canada toll-free on these by using an access number. DON'T go upscale on any prepaid US phones because they are generally impossible to unlock and will not roam in Canada whatsoever. They are a while-in-the-USA-only alternative.
