Hello - I have a few questions I'm hoping someone could help me with.  I'd like to order the new Iphone 7 Plus in black.  I've searched msgs on the availability and shipping issues, people had been saying shipping should start mid Nov.  So - my question is - have they started shipping yet? I'm not sure whether I should order now to get in the 'que' or if that even matters if they're still not in ?  If I order now and the phones don't ship for months - am I charged now?  Also - am I able to switch my current phone number to the new phone?  Can I keep the same plan I have now ?  I see there are a few discounts when I buy with a 'tab' - do these same discounts apply if I purchase outright or do I have to do this with the tab?  Appreciate anyone's help with these questions.

Hi Beverly -

have they started shipping yet? I'm not sure whether I should order now to get in the 'que' or if that even matters if they're still not in ?
Shipping timelines shift depending on when the order is placed. If you were to place an order online now, certain sizes and colours of the iPhone 7 Plus appear to be available, whereas others show a shipping window of 3-4 weeks. I would suggest checking with your local Koodo store first to see if they have your specific size and colour in-stock. If not, you can go-ahead and place your order through the web store and be mindful of the details shared (i.e. timelines, etc.).

If I order now and the phones don't ship for months - am I charged now?
Your payment card will be charged for the upfront balance at the time of check out and your new tab will take effect at that time as well. That said, and as mentioned above, it won't be months until you get your device as the current window shows up to 3-4 weeks.

Also - am I able to switch my current phone number to the new phone?
Yes, you can continue using your current phone until you receive the new one. If your switching from an older iPhone, then you simply take your SIM card and place it in the new phone. If you're switching from a device that takes a different SIM size, you can go into self-serve to activate your new SIM card. Instructions will be included in the box. (This is all under the assumption that you're a current Koodo customer? Or are you looking to activate a brand new line/account? I wasn't able to pull any account info. using your name or email address, so I'm unsure).

Can I keep the same plan I have now ?
Keeping your rate plan will be dependent on how much your paying monthly and which tab you're looking to get, i.e. each tab type requires a minimum monthly spend, dependent on the province you reside in. You'll be warned of this when you check out.

I see there are a few discounts when I buy with a 'tab' - do these same discounts apply if I purchase outright or do I have to do this with the tab?
Tab discounts are only applicable when you take a tab, so if you purchase outright you'll have to pay the full price.

Hope this helps - let us know if you have any follow-up questions or need more info.

Thank you - you've been very helpful.  I actually have a Blackberry now (through Koodo) regarding keeping the same phone number - I'm not too familiar with how this works - will my SIM card from the Blackberry fit into the Iphone ?? Is that the only way I keep the same number ?  If it is easier - I'm fine with losing the old number just thought it might be a bit more seamless to keep it.

Your BlackBerry SIM will be a different size from that of an iPhone. You'll be getting a new SIM card with your phone and will be able to continue using your current SIM and phone until you receive it. Once you get your order, you can go into your self serve account and swap to the new SIM by entering the serial number. Once you do so, follow the steps that will be provided and your number will transfer over to the new SIM card.

Your Blackberry SIM will not fit in the iPhone.  The Blackberrys use the MiniSIM (also known as Regular size SIM) (did the Q and Z series or anything released since use microSIM or nanoSIM?) while any iphone after the 4 uses Nano.
