Here I am, reaching out to you guys since I am a bit confused...

I found the cost to replace the screen of an iPhone 6 (https://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=Canada&product=iphone&locale=en_C...) but I want to know if the 129$ fee applies ONLY when you have apple care, or this is WITHOUT apple care?

And in other words, what would be the cost to replace a cracked screen?

Thanks for your support!

That's the price if you have Apple Care

You can check Kijiji for local repair shop prices as well, but that would void whatever warranty you have left.

Sorry Camilo_A, I didn't read your thread very carefully, and thought you were asking what is the price of a repair. And I went on looking like 5 minutes to find the link

After I've read your thread wrong, here's how everything works.

With AppleCare+ it would cost you 79$

If you only have a screen to repair it will cost you

If there's additional damage you will pay out of warranty repair price found here :

Hi there Community!!!

I'm here at the Apple store, and yes, as Robert said it will be 129$ + Tax to replace the screen, with no Apple care and because there was no other damage in the phone, like dents on the sides...

Really impressed with the service at Apple, but still will continue to be an Android user, this was for my wife! ;)

You're partly right Ahmad.

The advantage of Apple Care is that the warranty will be for 2 years. Therefore, even if the 2 repairs included in the Apple Care (2x80$ + 100$ Apple Care = 260$) will cost you the same amount of money as if you would not have Apple care (2x130$ = 260$), you can break your phone 2 times in 2 years instead only in the first year.

In other words, if you break you're screen in the second year, it would be considered as an out of warranty repair, therefore you would need to pay 360$. THEN, only Apple Care would have been more advantageous.

Used to be $270 for out of warranty. I guess this was hiked as well when the Canadian pricing took a hike.

Apple charges $109 (plus tax) to fix a broken iPhone 6 screen and $129 (plus tax) to fix a broken
iPhone 6+ screen. If you can't get to an Apple store, you can mail your device in to Apple for a shipping fee of $6.95. If you purchased AppleCare+ ($99 for two years) for your device, you'll only have to pay $79 for a screen repair -- though AppleCare+ only covers two incidents of accidental damage.

I have a continuing question for this.  If you cracked your screen and have the AppleCare do you go directly to AppleCare or do you have to notify Koodo first?
