Hi I have an iPhone 5 that is locked to Koodo/Telus, am I able to bring it to a Koodo shop and get it unlocked for 35$? I want to use a Virgin Mobile SIM card.

If someone could clarify what I would need to be eligible for this that would be appreciated.

Thanks!

What does Virgin give you that koodo doesn't? I think you have to call them for iPhones to be unlocked. You will have to pay off anything you have left on your tab before they give you the code.

I have already signed up with Virgin Mobile, been with them for a few months and the other day my sister had gotten an iPhone 6 with Bell but still has an iPhone 5 that is locked to Koodo/Telus. I'm just wondering if I'm able to get the iPhone unlocked by Koodo themselves instead of some other service.

Thanks for your reply

Only if one of you has a Koodo account that's at least 90 days old and in good standing and they can unlock it. ONLY if it's originally a Koodo iPhone and NOT Telus. You'll have to call Koodo at 18669956636 to unlock it. (The phone doesn' even need to be associated with the account)

Rudy, you don't have to pay off your tab first to unlock your phone. Account just needs to be 90 days old if they're on a tab. If purchased outright, it can be unlocked right away.

So my mom has an account with Koodo that shes had for 4 years now, and the iPhone I need to unlock is not on her account in any way, by the looks of it I'm able to do it and have it charged on her account right? (she has her own iPhone 5 that was bought outright by me).

Sorry for any annoyance, just want everything to be clear!

Thanks for the response Ahmad! :)

By what I understand yes it would be possible to be done that way!

Always better to have some ammunition in hand when trying to complete a transaction than just a bunch of comments from others.
