New stadium in Winnipeg and I can call and text from inside the stadium, but data refused to connect. Network strength said -60dB and that network was connected at 100%, but no data moved in any applications. Worked fine outside the stadium.

It's Weird for cell service to work but not data in the stadium but everything is ok outside. MMS (picture messaging) uses data to operate as well. Does MMS work?
I know I was on campus in April and data service worked when I was at the Dafoe Library

How's the new stadium looking?

It was the weirdest thing - no one else around us had problems. I could see there was a cell tower just outside the stadium. The phone indicated that data was available and connected, but the browser and all data apps said no connection. It only worked when we stepped outside the stadium.

New stadium is fantastic.

I have never experienced this in the past. Every time I have a connection I would have data as well. But what Paul said below sounds possible.

And if you have any relation to Leslie Rempel who went to Kelvin, I went to high school with her haha :)

I have this issue often in hockey rinks actually (and had it happen at a U2 concert in an open air football stadium as well).

Data uses different frequency than calls/texts (which is why you can use data while on a call). When you have that many people, with that many phones, all fighting for space on one tower... well somethings gonna give.
