I recently bought a verizon iPhone 4 from a friend that uses CDMA, but when I try to activate it on selfserve, it says that the meid number is invalid?

You need to use a sim card with the phone. Koodo will not be able to accept a CDMA connection with a phone from another carrier.

What if the iphone doesn't use a sim card?

CDMA iPhone models do not have a SIM card tray.

Since Koodo uses HSPA networks and CDMA networks have been phased out for the most part, your device is not compatible with Koodo's network and for that reason, registers an invalid IMEI.

I actually figured it out! This model doesn't have a sim card slot, but the reason the number was invalid is that starting this month, Koodo stopped using CDMA (at least in QC!) but thanks for your help!
